It was a close one for sure, in fact, it was a 2 point gap that separated first and second. Everyone put in excellent entries and I got way more outa' this than I expected to. I'd like to consider it a success, and I'd like to continue to have these, as it was much fun. Hopefully we can attract more and more users to participate.

Now, the prize for winning, because I've got no physical prize to give, will be allowing kingofstrings721 to choose the theme for the next competition. I'll work out when exactly to put it up, but no worries, it won't be to soon, I'll give you all time to rest.

I'd like to thank you all again for participating and I'm looking forward to doing all this again. And I'll put up the final results, just so you can see how close a race this really was.

Also, let's not make this wait too long, I'm always writing and experimenting, so I'm ready for the next one...and I've been pricing out mixers...bday's coming up next month, ya never know...

Considering I hated my last entry, I started yesterday a new one. I'm just being prepared.

I literally put mine together in about 20 minutes. I had all my gear set up, I just opened up Audacity and messed around for about 10 minutes, found something I liked, then pressed record. It worked out nice.

Hey, if nothing else these competitions can totally help improve your song writing abilities. Its harder than you think most times, and it does wonders for your song writing.

my only idea so far is a cover song in a different genre. if anybody has some other ideas, deposit them here for consideration.

a guitar part for a non guitar song (e.g.: vocal solo, drum solo, hip hop/rap, etc.).

or :

-incorporate a polyrhythm
-have a harmony
-use an odd-meter signature for one part (no 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 6/8, 12/8)
-have a beatboxing part
