Last Friday we added the first part of a new feature to MXTabs, an MXTabs traffic referrer system. Basically, it's a system to allow you to send people over to MXTabs, and you receive points for all the people you send our way.

Not only will it help to build the MXTabs community, but this points system will also be used to award prizes to our best referrers.

To access the system and to get your code, just log in to your account and click the "Referral Contest" tab.

Soon we'll start displaying top rankings, give special recognition on profile pages, etc. This system will also be built into our upcoming widgets and applications - more info on that soon.

MXTabs now has a presence on getsatisfaction.com, a brand new user support website. It's free to join and we think it's a great place for us and our users (you!) to exchange ideas about our young site, as everyone is free to ask questions, answer questions, and start new discussions.

Maybe you've seen some of the recent posts and announcements in the Forums concerning Limbo (our community tab moderation system), but if not, here's a quick update:

Tab submissions have been rolling in, and there are currently over 100 tabs waiting for your approval or denial in Limbo. To ensure that only the best tabs get added to the MXTabs database, please visit Limbo to cast your vote and make your voice heard.

Also, if you are a tab submitter or are interested in submitting tabs, there is now an Official Limbo Thread in which to post any questions/concerns you may have. This will be checked often and we'll do our best to give you a quick reply.

As many of you already know, one of the main goals in the re-launch of MXTabs was to keep much of the same goals and concepts in place from the original site. Part of this has relied on working closely with previous MXTabs members, as well as the founder of MXTabs.net.

We recently spoke with Jeremy, the founder, and he asked that we post the following comments from him:

Starting today, you can follow (stalk) MXTabs pretty much anywhere you'd like to online. We are now available on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Jaiku and most other social network sites.

If you'd like to add us as a friend (or be our fan, etc), just look to the right-hand column of the MXTabs site and click the icon for the social network.

As we continue to build the MXTabs site and network, one of our main goals is not to build another social network that already exists, but to implement some parts on MXTabs (bandmates, etc) that make sense within our community, but then to also utilize other social networks so MXTabs can better integrate into your online world.

By being a friend of MXTabs elsewhere, you'll be able to find out some of our latest and most important news or updates much more easily.

Stay tuned as we announce more efforts in these areas, but in the meantime if you'd like to add an MXTabs widget to your MySpace or other site, log in to your account management area and follow the link and instructions there.

MXTabs received a letter from an attorney today, representing the publisher for artists including AC/DC, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Eddie Money and Tom Waits. We are going to be going through any tabs that may currently be up on the site, and may be removing some tabs from these artists while they are in dispute.

Anyway, we thought you should know why certain tabs may no longer be available. Per our policy, any tabs that are under dispute from a publisher are removed from the site.

If you are interested in advertising on MXTabs, you can now do so through Google Adwords. Just log in to your google adwords account (or set one up) and you can target the domain MXTabs.net when you set up your ads.

Starting yesterday, we've made a small change to which tabs we're focusing on updating data on here at MXTabs. Basically what this boils down to is that you are going to start seeing a lot more tabs going back up to the site than you have recently. At least several hundred tabs went up today, for example, including songs by Anthrax, The Cure, Ryan Adams, Apollo 440, and others.

Anyway, expect to see a lot more tabs coming online now. Now that the site redesign is complete, our #1 priority is to get as much content back on the site as possible, as quickly as possible.
